CCR has adopted a resolution committing its efforts to the pursuit of policies that restore and protect the constitutionally guaranteed right to keep and bear arms. The Second Amendment gives this right to all, without terms and conditions. This makes bans on automatic weapons and respective accessories, such as standard and high capacity magazines – along with all silencers, flash hiders, and suppressors – unconstitutional.
The right to bear arms is fundamental to keeping citizens safe from enemies foreign and domestic, and a government that seeks to disarm its population is a government that seeks to control their population. We are a government by, for, and of the people – and it must always remain that way. We don’t believe in compromising away our constitutional rights and fundamentally reject Democrat coalitions formed to chip away at our rights. This resolution echos the Platform of the California Republican Party, which states: “The United States Constitution guarantees the right of its citizenry to keep and bear arms .... California’s gun control laws only serve to disarm law-abiding citizens, not criminals. We oppose any further gun control legislation and support the right of all California citizens to own and bear guns and ammunition for any lawful purpose.” If you’re a firearm owner, interested in owning a firearm, or even want to simply be informed, follow organizations like Orange County Gun Owners, San Diego County Gun Owners, Firearms Policy Coalition, and California Rifle and Pistol Association. This formal resolution follows the adoption of informal goals to support the pro-life movement and President Trump’s America First agenda. Limitations to our Second Amendment rights are detrimental to our efforts to protect and defend our other rights and conservative goals.
