College Republican
Election Guide 2020

The November 2020 ballot is REALLY long! With confusing ballot measures and hundreds of candidates running for office, some might feel overwhelmed.

We have researched, vetted, and issued an endorsement on a large amount of statewide races to help make voting easy!
President

President

President Donald Trump and Vice President Mike Pence, of course!
It's either Trump or the anti-American, police-defunding, lawless policies of Joe Biden.

Ballot Propositions

Propositions

Prop. 14: NO
$5.5 billion in bonds... NO!

Prop 15: NO
A no vote prevents the repeal of Prop 13 property tax protections on commercial properties. Howard Jarvis Taxpayers has said that Prop 15 would be the largest tax increase in California history.

Prop 16: NO
A no vote would prevent the repeal of Prop 209, which currently makes it illegal to discriminate on the basis of race, sex, color, ethnicity, or national origin in public employment, public education, and public contracting. Essentially, Prop 209 outlaws affirmative action. The Republican Party has been against this discrimination historically, as it was Republicans that championed Prop 209 in 1996.

Prop. 17: No
This proposition seeks to give the right to vote back to felons... NO!

Prop. 18: No
This proposition would allow 17 year-olds to vote in primaries... HECK NO (and this is coming from us, the youth!)

Prop. 19: No Position
A "yes" vote supports this constitutional amendment to:
* allow eligible homeowners to transfer their tax assessments anywhere within the state and allow tax assessments to be transferred to a more expensive home with an upward adjustment;
* increase the number of times that persons over 55 years old or with severe disabilities can transfer their tax assessments from one to three;
* require that inherited homes that are not used as principal residences, such as second homes or rentals, be reassessed at market value when transferred; and
* allocate additional revenue or net savings resulting from the ballot measure to wildfire agencies and counties.
A "no" vote opposes this constitutional amendment, therefore continuing to:
* allow eligible homeowners to transfer their tax assessments within counties and to homes of equal or lesser market value;
* keep the number of times that persons over 55 years old or with severe disabilities can transfer their tax assessments at one;
* allow the tax assessments on inherited homes, including those not used as principal residences, to be transferred from parent to child or grandparent to grandchild.
Prop. 20:  Yes
A yes vote will add crimes to the list of violent felonies for which early parole is restricted; recategorize certain types of theft and fraud crimes as wobblers (chargeable as misdemeanors or felonies); and require DNA collection for certain misdemeanors. Backed by the police as a pushback on California removing felony status on many violent offenses. Support the police and vote YES!

Prop. 21: No
This proposition would allow local governments to enact rent control on housing... NO!

Prop. 22: Yes
Effectively exempts app-based drivers from AB5's independent contractor rules. Keep Uber and Lyft in California... vote YES!

Prop. 23: No
Scam by unions to control dialysis clinics... NO!

Prop. 24: No
Reduces online privacy protections, but deceptively worded to make you think it's increasing privacy protection. Vote NO!

Prop. 25: No

Replaces cash bail with risk assessments for suspects awaiting trial.... HECK NO!
